Racing Info
Each winter, the Crescent Ski Council (CSC) hosts the Crescent Racing Series, which offers ski club members the opportunity to race in organized ski events. CSC race weekends are staged about every other weekend from January through March.
If you or someone in your family is interested in becoming a better skier, then the race program might be the way to do it. You need to know how to ski, but you do not have to be a world class athlete to get involved. The Crescent race program is designed for skiers of all abilities. You start by getting a handicap. This can be done by making a qualifying run on the course during any Crescent Race weekend, or scoring a handicap of less than 60 at any NASTAR Race. Once you have a handicap you can be scheduled to compete in any of the above mentioned races.
When you are scheduled for a race, your handicap (which reflects your skiing ability) places you in a flight of skiers with handicaps of approximately the same ability level. Thus you are always skiing against skiers of the same ability level as your own and as you improve so does your handicap and in turn you ski with better skiers. If you have an interest in becoming a better skier and want to get involved in the race program please feel free to Email our KSC Race Director Chuck Wilson for more details. This program is for skiers or snow boarders.
